Letter to Council Technical students

Dear Members of the Technical Board of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences. THIS

As Council members, we went to this collegial body because we consider important to your attention a situation arising in the process of forming the template for the semester 2010-2, Center for International Relations, we believe, deserves your attention. In
First we want to establish recognition of the powers of the centers on behalf of a principal's authority to carry out the preparation of staff and noted that we express our views in terms of student demands for involvement that has suffered its right to have the best options to pursue the matters of this semester.
This idea encourages a deep concern that we present to you as strange, because a number of irregularities occurred in the process of assigning teachers by the Coordination of International Relations in which we must work together to avoid generating un problema que se salga de control.
1. En la sesión plenaria del pasado jueves 14 del mes en curso se explicó, a petición del consejero profesor Sergio Guerrero Verdejo, el motivo de la salida del profesor Juan Palma Vargas, quien ha incumplido reiteradamente en sus obligaciones as a teacher in the art of Mexico's Foreign Policy I and II.
to the arguments presented by my side, joined the coordinator Ignacio Martinez, who made remarks about the performance of the teacher, which gave additional items to the note on the template, in which the arguments presented to analyze the drawbacks to be considered.
2. After clarification, the chairperson of the college suggested looking for another option, which the coordinator pointed out having discussed the matter with us. This alluded to the meeting between counselor and coordinator, in which he explained the reasons for filing Professor Palma to the committee as a proposed template for teaching the subject, despite the demonstrated failure.
was then expressed his preference for Professor David Herrera, who had taught the subject for over two years and have demonstrated their dedication and commitment to teaching. It should be noted that Professor Herrera was initially considered the matter of Foreign Policy II, his stay in the workforce was then reconsidered under the reinstatement of other faculty members.
3. The case of Professor Palma then left a space in the area of \u200b\u200bforeign policy as well as the coordinator position, would be covered by Professor Herrera, not only recognized for his work in the community of teachers but also the students. On the other hand, their status under the law allow university during this semester is about to begin, have the seniority needed to be thesis advisor and Synod.
Accordingly, we agree with the coordinator decide the relevance of Professor David Herrera, given the mutual benefits backed academic performance from the experience and institutional needs.
II. Irregularities to support the use of estrangement:
1. At the suggestion Dr. Fernando Castaneda to look for another profile, my colleague Sara sought to advance the council meeting in view of the close of registration for International Relations, to avoid being overtaken by time. Given this situation and because we only had one yet, the president of this council vote of confidence granted to the commission of templates to resolve the issue in coordination send the proposals.

2. Despite this, on Monday 18 January morning, and I reviewed Sarasuadi template published by the Department of Student Services, we realize that such outstanding matters were previously approved by the Council and the subject which we expected proposals, including Professor Rafael Velásquez Herrera and not the teacher, the axis of consideration discussed.

This is not a minor case as coordination of International Relations, besides breaking the agreement they had come, carried out an irregular procedure in assigning a teacher to act not only without taking into account commission templates to make no knowledge of any of its members, but also did not respect the vote of confidence given by the director of this power to the committee to discuss the matter.

3. In view of this irregularity my partner Sara and I went on Tuesday 19 to the Division Professional Studies in search of an explanation. Professor Claudia Bodek convened a meeting with the coordinator of the race that afternoon to see what had happened.

4. After the meeting, the coordinator Ignacio Martinez explained his reasons for regarding the teacher and not the teacher Velázquez Herrera. He added that the second will not stay no matter, it would propose for the subject of Political and Social Development of Mexico I.

5. Since the procedure for the incorporation of academics to the faculty, the teacher asked if Herrera had a history in this area in some measure to ensure compliance with agreements. The response was not closed. And a day of registration, the teacher coordinator Claudia Bodek told Herrera to contact the professor as soon as possible to see the incorporation formalities to be considered in the template.
6. In this sequence of events, day 21, a day after the registration of International Relations, we went back to the DEPRO to ask the teacher if the teacher Claudia David had already been notified and if he would give the matter and it we asked to wait until Friday, when the coordination would have to send all that were left pending in order to send the documents to the Technical Board.

7. On Monday, 25 were given a copy of a letter from Professor Herrera addressed to Dr. Ignacio Martínez Cortés with copies to the commission of templates and the director of the faculty, which states that on 21 days ago had been built in the last minute template in a matter that had not previously taught and expressed the impossibility of accepting the proposal.

Since it acted arbitrarily by the Coordination violating an agreement proposed by the Chairman of the Board and endorsed by all the full consider the existence of sufficient grounds to challenge actions by coordinating with the lack of transparency and information with which it has proceeded, and ask for a meaningful participation by the Council, given the implications and consequences which may arise, to be a precedent that certainly violates the goals and achievements of this collective body, as well as the purpose of this institution.
And we call for there to be an early settlement of pending cases and to establish appropriate mechanisms to prevent future re-give such cases, we reiterate affect the rights of students and teachers.
